Best Engagement Sessions of 2017

I love doing engagement sessions. They are so important to me in the process of being your wedding photographer. Not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera or spending their biggest day with a perfect stranger telling them what to do. Engagement sessions are my way of helping fix those two problems. We spend your engagement session together and get to know each other a little. I guide you on some basic posing to help you get a little more comfortable with the best way to stand or where to put your hands so that you don’t look or feel awkward. I’ve found that it can be very helpful in giving you more confidence in that area. It can also make portraits on your wedding day go a lot faster and help me to get images that are more natural of the two of you together.

Reasons Why

I know sometimes getting an engagement session can take more effort than it seems is worth it. Especially when you are out of state. But I love to travel and new locations are the best! It’s also fun to pick places that are special or important to you. But when it comes down to it, as long as the two of you are in the pictures, the location doesn’t have to be something spectacular. I’ve done sessions in locations that aren’t different or special necessarily and that you can’t really even see in the picture and they have been some of my favorite images because of the couple’s connection.

An engagement session can also be a good way to see if you and the photographer are a good fit. You should definitely look at their images and see if it fits the style you are going for before scheduling a session but spending time with them at your engagement session will give you the chance to see if you enjoy spending time with them and if you like the finished product before the wedding. You will be spending most of your wedding day with this person so you want to make sure they are a good fit for you.
