Wedding Henna

Wedding Henna is such an amazing thing. The first event I photographed for the Joshi wedding was part of the pre-wedding ceremony. It was a great introduction to what was to come the next night. Everyone ate, sang, laughed, and danced as the ladies individually received beautiful henna on their hands and feet. It was so relaxing watching the lady that was doing the henna. She did it so smoothly and elegantly. I was so impressed by her talent. I was very tempted to get some myself but got distracted and ended up not having a chance.

The whole night, everyone was happy and celebrating. The children all danced and stood around to watch the henna being drawn on hands and feet. The colors and garments were gorgeous These are just a few quick images from the night.

The following night would be the wedding ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson TN. This was the perfect way for everyone to get in the mood for a wedding. I was so excited to get started on this great weekend with this family.
