50 Year Wedding Anniversary

For their 50 Year Wedding Anniversary, the Carmichael’s and their family came back to where it all started. 50 years ago they were married at Lambuth Chapel on the campus of Lambuth College. They’ve since had three beautiful daughters and eleven grandchildren. They are well known in the community for teaching swim lessons near their home.

Mr. Carmichael worked at Lambuth for many years and was even my husband’s cross country coach when he was in college at Lambuth University. He has also taught my children to swim. Mrs. Carmichael still plays basketball for the West Tennessee Madisons Basketball team and is a senior Olympics national champion. She is one of the kindest ladies I know.

I have several connections with this family. My husband’s grandfather was the pastor at their wedding 50 years ago. I also worked at camp with their daughter and we have stayed close friends. And now I go to church with the Carmichael’s and one of their daughters and her family.

I’m so happy that I was able to do this portrait session with them on what is now University of Memphis, Lambuth campus. They have such a fun family and I enjoyed spending a little time with them in such a special place. 50 years of marriage is a huge accomplishment and these two have built a great life together.
