Nolan’s One Year Session
Nolan’s one year session was on a cold rainy week. We were lucky enough to have a great indoor spot to take his portraits at. Little Nolan was a little unsure of me at first. He was in a new place with someone talking to him that just kept putting a big object in front of their face. He kept a close eye on me at first until he could figure out how he felt about it all.
The Neely House
I typically do indoor sessions in the winter in the New Southern Hotel downtown. I had several sessions planned to do there and unfortunately they had pipes burst and are going to have work being done for a while. So we were able to do them at the Neely house in Jackson TN.
The Neely House is also known at The Murphy Hotel. It was built in 1911 by hotelier Franklin B. Neely. Neely built it across the road from the newly built Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Passenger Depot. It remained in the Neely family until 1946, when it was purchased by Robert J. Murphy, a farmer
Now the Neely house is a charming historic building with lots of businesses inside. One of the businesses is the fabulous photographer Only Photography. I’m so grateful that she was willing to share her space with us since we were in a bit of a bind.
Great session
Once Nolan got comfortable with me and the new place, he gave us tons of smiles and big laughs. He did such a great job.
