Mandy & Scott | Engaged | University of Memphis Lambuth, Jackson TN

I was beyond excited for my engagement session with Mandy & Scott. This wasn’t just another couple in front of my lens — this was my friend Mandy. The same Mandy who stood beside me on one of the most important days of my life: my own wedding. The same Mandy who once shared a home with me (even if only for a short chapter) and countless late-night viewings of Grey’s Anatomy — back in the glory days, before Derek died. (Don’t even get me started!)
Through the years, Mandy and I have shared so many of life’s ups and downs. Our friendship has weathered seasons of change, laughter, tears, and everything in between. So you can imagine how much it meant to me to finally meet the man who captured her heart. Life, as it tends to do, kept our paths from crossing until this day — and I can genuinely say Scott did not disappoint.
From the very beginning, Scott struck me as the perfect match for Mandy: sweet in all the right ways, with a great sense of humor (which, let’s be honest, is practically a survival skill these days). I had heard he wasn’t the biggest fan of being in front of the camera, but you’d never know it. He was such a good sport, and not once did I hear a single complaint — only the sound of shared laughter between two people who are clearly head-over-heels for each other.
We chose the University of Memphis, Lambuth Campus for their session — a place that holds special meaning since it’s where Mandy works. The day could not have been more perfect. The light danced beautifully through the trees, wrapping everything in that golden, almost magical glow. But no lighting trick, no perfect location, can ever create the genuine joy I saw on Mandy’s face that day. The smiles, the laughter, the easy way these two fit together — it’s the kind of connection you simply can’t fake.
Looking through these photos makes my heart so full. Seeing that beautiful, genuine smile on my sweet friend’s face reminds me exactly why I love what I do. I truly cannot wait to celebrate with them both on their wedding day!
