I’m sure it comes as no surprise that I love taking pictures. I love having pictures to remember things by. This year I wanted to have sessions with my kids to help them and me remember what they were doing this time in their lives. So this week we did Adelyn’s 5-year sports and playschool session.

Sports and Playschool

I already do a session every year with my kids. I call it the “when I grow up” sessions. They tell me what it is they want to be at this point in their lives and we get them dressed up and take pictures. Those will be coming soon. But this year my kids are trying out lots of new sports and activities. Adelyn has been in swim for over a year now. She of course also loves frilly dresses and princesses. And she found a love of soccer this spring. I’ve been seeing where another photographer in Alabama took pictures of little girls in dresses and crowns along with sports equipment and of course loved it. I don’t like to feel like I”m copying other photographers ideas for advertised portraits for my clients. But when it sparks an idea for my own kids I love it.

I was already thinking of getting Adelyn all dressed up in her sports gear for a session. But when I saw those images I thought the dress was a great addition. And fits her perfectly. So here we are. It was a super hot and humid day but she was so patient. She loves getting dressed up. I also took her to her parents day out school called Playschool. This is her last year and we have both absolutely loved the program, teachers and all the friends she has made. So it only felt fitting to get some images of her there before she heads off to kindergarten.
