Cassidy & Hayes | The Barn at Snider Farms | Tracye’s Photography

It’s almost spring so the weather has started to get a bit warmer. The forecast called for rain all day and I was so excited when it stopped just before I arrived at The Barn at Snider Farms for Cassidy & Haye’s wedding. You can still get great wedding images even if it’s raining but Cassidy had told me she wanted some by the pond so I was hoping we would get to make that happen for her.

As I arrived and started taking pictures of a few details and grabbing all the bridal details there was already a great energy in the barn. Cassidy had tons of people there that loved her that were excited to get the day started. But before we start the wedding day let me tell you a little about Cassidy & Hayes. How they met

Cassidy was a bridesmaid in his cousin’s wedding, which was held at his parents’ house. He had asked about her the previous NYE, and the week before the wedding he had asked for her number. His great grandmother, Big Mama, told him at the wedding how stupid he was “for not dancing with that pretty little girl over there.” Taking her advice, they danced at the reception, hung out after, and went on our first date 4 days later.

How he proposed

Hayes & Cassidy’s church’s Wild Game Supper was going on, and Hayes was helping as part of the Men’s Ministry team. Cassidy was told that Josh, another member of the group, needed things for the event from Sam’s, so he asked if she’d ride to Jackson with him to get them, and he’d take her to eat breakfast while they were in Jackson. He later told her this was how he covered up why he was dressed up more than normal.

That morning, he called Cassidy and said he had forgotten to put out trail cameras the day before, asked if she would mind stopping before they got to Jackson to help him put them out. She agreed, and as they were walking down the tree line, he stops, drops to a knee, and asked her to be his wife. After she said “Of course!” he tells her to look over her shoulder and there sits her sister, hiding in the tall grass, capturing that special moment. That is something she will cherish forever.

The Wedding Day

The wedding day at The Barn at Snider Farms was perfect. Everything went smooth and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. We did their first look outside by the lake and they exchanged gifts while they were out there. They just kept hugging and kissing each other. Once they had had a moment to themselves we went back to the front of the barn to start portraits.

You need a fun story for every wedding so theirs was that up in the rafters on the front of the barn sat a very large bird. There were lots of different opinions of what it was, but I’m really not sure. It would move back and forth and was dropping not so great surprises as it went. We were getting worried it was going to drop something on someone while we were doing our pictures. So one of the groomsmen came to the rescue and threw a rock up to it so it would fly away. Don’t worry, the bird wasn’t hit, just a bit startled.

The Ceremony

There were several adorable little kids in the wedding so as the ceremony started everyone watched to see what they were going to do. They all did a great job coming down the aisle and spreading petals. A couple of them even took off running when they unexpectedly saw their parents seated towards the front. The ceremony was touching and as parents and grandparents left down the aisle we had some very entertaining dancers, even a grandmother got in on the dancing.

It was a wonderful night and I”m so happy for these two. They’ve had an incredibly busy and hectic year and I know they are so happy to finally be married. Congratulations Hayes & Cassidy!!!
