Crazy K Ranch | Katie & Mason | Michie TN

Katie is a relative so I have known her her whole life. So I was really looking forward to her and Mason’s wedding at Crazy K Ranch. It was a gorgeous day. The sky was filled with puffy white clouds and there were fields of cows as far as you could see. The humidity has finally disappeared and it’s gotten a bit chilly. The wind was pretty wild all day but we found a few spots to block it with a building or two. Now let’s get into the story of Katie & Mason.

Their story

Katie & Mason were both in the Navy. They met while working on a USS ship together. When they first met Katie was in a relationship but they both thought the other was cute. Mason thought she looked cute in her coveralls. The two saw each other a lot but never really spoke to each other. They took turns being in relationships so the time just wasn’t right. About a year and a half later they were both single and Katie made her move. She messaged him on Facebook to see what he was doing later and if he wanted to go to Fiesta Island with her and some friends. They all sat around the fire and enjoyed the night together and the two of them talked pretty much every day after that.

Katie’s dog, now their dog, Luna became their wingman, they would walk her together and she would circle them making her leash wrap around them to get them closer together. They were surprised because her dog didn’t typically like other people. Their first actual date was to see The Lion King. Mason proposed December 1, 2022. Katie had gotten home from school and he met her in the garage to walk her inside. There was a candle-lit pathway with rose petals leading towards the back door. Under the patio, he had a neon sign saying “Will you marry me” with a drape and flowers around it. Katie said it was perfect, very intimate and romantic.

The Wedding Day

Crazy K Ranch has a beautiful open barn for weddings. That is where Katie & Mason chose to have their wedding. The reception was at their event center just down the gravel road. They also have lots of cabins and places to rent and stay. This made it easy for their family from out of state to all come up and stay and enjoy the weekend together. Katie’s mother made some wonderful food from Louisiana where Katie grew up.

We had to fight the wind during the pictures but other than that it was a perfect day. The wedding was so sweet and personal. Katie and Mason had a relative do the service to make it more personal. He did a great job and once the ceremony ended everyone headed back to the reception hall for cocktail hour. It was a great night. There was tons of dancing, fun, and laughter. I’m so glad I got to be a part of the day. Congratulations you two!! Now I can finally share some bridal portraits!
