The Cumberland House

Built in the 1870s as a father’s wedding gift, The Cumberland House continues to be a gift to brides. This two-story downtown Jackson house sits among three acres of beautifully terraced gardens and rolling lawns. A pavilion with tall, elegant curtains stands at the back of the house looking out over the lawn, offering a place where your first dance will feel like its inside and outside at once. On the house’s long porches as you prepare to join the most special person in your life you’ll feel like you’ve gone back in time to a Victorian novel to do so.

All the Time You Need

Cumberland House’s owners want a happy bride and family. They strive to offer plenty of time for the wedding party to prepare and set up in the time leading up to the ceremony. Where they could cram multiple weddings into a schedule, they prefer to give wedding parties their space, to cut back on the stress and let it be the special day it was meant to be. Management will work with you to make sure you have plenty of time for photo sessions, dressing, and spending time with the most special people in your life.

The Stardust Room

A wonderful canvas for the bride to get ready. The Stardust Room is painted totally in white, blending with the wedding dress and making every shade of color stand out and pop. This affect fills pictures with light and an airy quality that will make your wedding preparation a bit more magical.

Beautiful Outdoor Venue, Rain or Shine

You will forget you are downtown as you stroll behind the historic house. The gentle, rolling lawn spreading over several acres suits small, intimate engagements or large celebrations. Shrubs and trees thoughtfully manicured throughout the lawn offer many options for photos throughout your special day. The pavilion offers a wonderful safety net for weather that is beautiful and open enough you might choose it for your festivities even with clear, sunny skies.
