Family and Grandchildren’s Portraits
I have lots of random connections to this family before being called to do these family and grandchildren’s portraits. I photographed their niece’s wedding and met them there. It was a wonderful wedding with lots of fun and friendly people to photograph. I love weddings where I get to meet the guests. Especially when they feel comfortable enough with me to hire me to come to photograph their family later on. And of course, I’m always flattered to be hired by family members from weddings.
Soon after the wedding my husband and I started visiting churches. We ended up joining the church that the Scanlon’s go to. So I have gotten to see and get to know them a little better since the wedding. Mrs. Scanlon actually works with my kids in the children’s music of our church. Her daughter and her children also go to our church so it was a great session spent with people I have already met and getting to know them a bit more.
Family home
I have some absolutely gorgeous places in the area that we can use to do portraits. But I always love it when people choose a place that is personal to them for their portraits. The Scanlons have a gorgeous home in a neighborhood that I adore. It can always be helpful for children to be in a place that they are familiar with. The kids were real troopers because even though we did the session in the morning it was still a hot and humid day. We also had a hawk trying to rush us along because we were right under it’s next full of babies. So it was squawking at us even more than I was squeaking my toy to catch the kids attention.
To see another family session done at the grandparent’s house where everyone felt at home take a look at the Carkuff family.
