Graduates

It’s that time of year when people who have worked their tails off for years are getting to celebrate all their hard work. This week I got a chance to photograph the Lewis family graduates. This family is getting to celebrate two people graduating. I am beyond impressed with all the work this takes for both of them but I can’t even imagine being able to study, take tests, and write papers at this point in my life in a house full of kids. It’s such an impressive thing to me.

I think spring is the perfect time of year for graduation. It already feels like a new beginning with all the new colors and plants growing up around you. But the longer days help me to feel like getting out and getting new things started too. In my head, it just seems like the perfect time to start a new beginning of having a degree and going from school to whatever you are choosing to do with that.

The Lewis Family

I’ve known Misty now for a few years since she works at my kids school and has helped us tremendously with ways to help my son be the best he can be at school. It is so great to photograph her family during such a fun time in their lives. Our girls have crossed paths many times with mutual friends and living down the street from us. They are also both budding thespians. So when she wanted her few moments of fame in our session it was fun to get some emotion filled “headshots” of her. I think she did an amazing job with joy and sadness.
