I’ve always loved pictures of little girls in their mom’s wedding dress. I did it with my little girl and it was so precious. I have a dear friend that comes back to town every summer. We always try to get together and spend a little time together. This time we got to do a sweet photo session with her youngest. She had done pictures of each of her girls in her wedding dress and it was time for the last one.
We planned to do them at First Presbyterian in Jackson TN. It has a gorgeous white mansion on the property they use for their offices. They also have tall old trees that make for beautiful shade with the sun shining through. It’s not very easy for a little one to walk in a full-size wedding dress so it was interesting going from spot to spot. She did so well even though it was incredibly hot and humid out.
It was a beautiful sunny day and the sun was bright and streaming through the trees. We decided to finish our session up on the porch of the historic building. And we were so so lucky that we did. As I moved her to the final spot and assured her that I really did mean, “last one” this time. I started to feel drops on my arm. I looked up and it was still sunny. Then after feeling another drop I realized that it was raining through the sunshine. There was one small black cloud just over us. As we stepped under the cover it started to pour. Her mom ran to the van as we slipped her out of the dress and ran to get in.
It was a crazy session but we got some really great images. She was the perfect model.
