So You Think You Can Dance
So have you ever had that show that just makes you feel happy? Maybe during the time of the year it isn’t on you slightly forget about it but just after the first episode you remember just how amazing it is and are completely hooked all over again? Well for me that show is So You Think You Can Dance. I’ve watched it since season 1 and I love it more and more each season. And it’s just one of my tv obsessions.
I’m sure a big part of it is that I love the arts. I love dance, music and just most any kind of art. I took voice lessons all through high school. Honestly, I might love to sing more than I love taking pictures but I’m also a very self-conscious person so my nerves don’t handle singing in public much anymore. I also took dance as a kid and then again in high school. So watching this show just makes my heart happy.
I love watching shows that make you feel something positive. Dance definitely makes me feel. This brings together great music, insanely talented dancers, and in my opinion the best reality host on tv. I find myself feeling like I know these people by the end of it. It is also one of the only reality or competition shows I have ever seen where I have no doubt that the people behind the show care completely for the contestants. There’s no added craziness just for drama. And every year they make changes to try to make it better for the dancers, choreographers, and viewers. So, if you haven’t watched it, you should. The ends of the season are the best but the beginning is pretty darn good.
PBS
My other tv obsessions is a whole network. PBS. I LOVE PBS shows. Especially Masterpiece Classics. This all started one day years ago when I saw a commercial for a show filmed in a castle. I just glanced over as the commercial was on and it looked a lot like The Biltmore that my family had recently visited. I love historic buildings and really loved touring Biltmore so I thought I might look this show up. Turns out it was definitely not filmed in the Biltmore but the name of this new show was Downton Abbey. This my friends is where it all began. I watched this show and even though every time I tried to explain the plot to friends it sounded like the most boring show in the world, I was hooked. I loved it. After that I watched any and every PBS show I could find. It has led to lots of late night binge watching.
Of course I’m also a bit of a science fiction gal and love Doctor Who and several other things that I wont’ get into right now. So if any of these things interest you, we should talk, cause I’m sure we’ll have lots to talk about.
