A Nashville Proposal
This weekend’s Nashville bridge proposal was a tricky one. I love the challenge of a proposal for someone that is hard to surprise. Macy’s mom reached out to me when she found out her daughter’s boyfriend was going to propose. Macy is hard to surprise and her mom wanted to make sure she was presentable when he proposed. Let’s be honest most of us haven’t gotten dressed in decent clothes or brushed our hair since COVID hit.
The Plan
So her mom had a plan to hire a photographer so that they could record the moment. Luckily I was chosen to be the photographer. Macy is a musician in Nashville so her mom had the idea for me to reach out like I wanted a photoshoot with her. I did my research and turns out Macy is a pretty great musician. So I was a little nervous she wouldn’t say yes to a random photoshoot with someone she doesn’t know. Luckily she is a super awesome person and was excited to get out and let me take her picture.
I was already in Nashville for another session and told her I just wanted to get some pictures of a local musician on the Pedestrian bridge in downtown Nashville. And in all honesty, I was pretty excited about that part of it too. She brought Devin with her to carry her stuff along with one of his friends. We started taking pictures of Macy and when she decided to bring in a hat for some of the pictures Devin was ready with the ring box in the hat. He walked nervously over to her and started talking to her before dropping to one knee.
She was totally surprised and excited. And was surprised again when her parents came around the corner. They had driven in from out of town to be there for the proposal. We took advantage of the gorgeous day and took lots more pictures. Everyone was such a joy to meet and I’m just so glad to have gotten to be a small part of this special day.
