Jared & Heather
This was another fun Nashville newborn session with the Petry family. If you’ve followed me long you have seen that I took proposal, engagement and wedding photos for these sweet friends of mine. Jared and I have known each other since we were teenagers working at a summer camp. He gave me a call when he was planning to propose to Heather and I am so glad I got to be a part of the journey with these two from the beginning.
The babies
I have loved meeting their new dark haired babies soon after they bring them home from the hospital. Little William had the most hair I may have ever photographed on a newborn. He has beautiful curls and crinkles up his nose at least once every time I photograph him. So obviously he’s a dream.
On the day of little Everett’s session, I was shocked when I walked out to my car and it actually felt like fall for the first time. It’s not cold at all by any means but the humidity has broken and you don’t sweat buckets in the shade. So for me, that’s a win. But still, I made my way to Nashville and set up and warmed up the room to photograph the newest Petry.
This sweet little man doesn’t have nearly as much hair as his brother but he’s so handsome. And he has a very sweet deminer. He only got upset with me when he had been uncovered for too long and the heater wasn’t close by. For most of the session, all I had to do was gently shush him and he would relax and go back to sleep.
Brothers
The best part of the session was when we put these two brothers together. They haven’t been home long and William is still small so he had not gotten a chance to “hold” his little brother yet. So when we laid him on the bed and placed his brother beside him he was so proud. He tried to lay very still and got a little confused when the baby started crying.
Big brother did so well just laying and helping us shush. When it was time to pick Everett back up William wouldn’t let him go. He even cried a bit until we let him hug him while mom held him. They were so sweet.
