Penny & Mark

Penny and Mark had a beautiful wedding at The Caldwell Inn in Milan TN. I met Penny and Mark a couple of months ago at their engagement session. We met at their home to photograph them there. Their property is absolutely gorgeous. Penny and Mark have not lived in the area for very long and on top of moving were also planning their wedding.

Wedding Day

When I arrived at The Caldwell Inn on Saturday it was very overcast and the humidity had decided to come back in. But luckily it wasn’t raining. The forecast had gone back and forth all week about what the weather would be that day. I went inside and gathered all the details about the wedding. The family members gradually arrived to start preparing and assist with the arrangements. Each person I met was really nice and helpful. Even the kids came in and were getting ready and doing all the things they were asked.

Penny and I headed outside to the trolley, eager for Mark to catch his first glimpse of her in her dress.The owners got the trolley from Charleston. They’ve had “Walt” as they affectionately call the trolley since 2018. It is so pretty and unique and I always love getting to photograph it when I am at the venue. They had a sweet first look and then we hurried right into family pictures.

The Wedding

Penny and Mark’s delightful family was thrilled for their wedding. I really enjoyed getting to meet all of their children and grandchildren. We finished our tasks and immediately drove to the charming little white chapel that belongs to the venue. The fall colored trees were a perfect backdrop for the day. The little white chapel was restored from 1876. As I stand here in this chapel, I can’t help but wonder just how many couples have exchanged their vows and began their lifelong journey of love and commitment in this very place. After they said “I do” and had a bubble sendoff everyone went over to the reception for a fun night together.
