Sarah-Kate and Norris decided they wanted to do their engagement session in Downtown Jackson TN. Sarah-Kate grew up here and I think it was a great choice for their portraits. It was almost like a tour of their upcoming wedding. They are getting married at First Methodist and having their reception at The New Southern Hotel just across the street.
Their session was the first time I’ve really gotten to spend much time with them. I really enjoyed getting to hear more about the two of them and get to know them a bit. The day that we met up for their session it was pretty chilly outside. But it all worked out because downtown Jackson was almost totally empty. That gave us lots of options that we wouldn’t normally have. There were spots that almost always have cars in the way that were completely empty that day. It also gave me the chance to get some different angles since those spots were empty and I could stand in them.
The weather was a little iffy to start with. There was a chance of rain but it cleared up in time for our session. It was very overcast and I didn’t think there was a chance of us getting any pictures with sunlight. But we got so lucky and towards the end of the session one side of the sky opened up and the sun beamed through. The other side of the sky stayed dark blue and made for a beautiful backdrop. I’m really looking forward to these guys wedding it’s definitely going to be a fun day.
