Sarah-Kate & Norris have been planning this wedding for quite a while and the day finally came! We had a wonderful break in the humidity. And in the south in June that’s a great gift. Several rain showers came through but it didn’t put a damper on this day at all.
The Beginning
Sarah-Kate and Norris were introduced by Sarah-Kate’s best friend. It was during the depth of Covid so people were a bit confined. Her friend thought they would get along great so she connected them. They started talking to one another on Snapchat and once they started they couldn’t stop. After a while of messages taking forever to load they decided to talk on the phone and have been inseparable ever since.
When Norris decided to ask Sarah-Kate to marry him he planned it all out. Sarah-Kate was going to be graduating so her mother told her to come home and they’d take some pictures at the University of Memphis Lambuth campus. As her mom was taking pictures she noticed Norris grab something out of her mom’s camera bag. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him and she said “Yes!”.
I have met Sarah-Kate over the years but never gotten to talk with her and get to know her. She and Norris met me downtown for their engagement session. They brought their sweet pup and we had a great time exploring downtown Jackson. Getting to know my couples before the wedding day is great.
The Wedding
The wedding was at the church Sarah-Kate grew up in. First Methodist in downtown Jackson TN is a really pretty church with beautiful stained glass and the front porch has huge beautiful wooden doors and white columns. It was a great place for wedding pictures that kept us out of the rain and was also so gorgeous. Everyone got ready and we had first looks on the front porch. Norris & Sarah Kate had such a great group of family and friends who were happy to celebrate them.
The New Southern
After a sweet ceremony, the two exited the front of the church down the large staircase surrounded by everyone with bubbles and streamers. Then everyone headed over to The New Southern which is a historic hotel that is also in downtown Jackson. The historic detail in the hotel is so elegant and is the perfect backdrop for a reception. It was a great celebration.
