Scott and Mandy are married!
If you’ve been following along here, you’ve likely seen this radiant bride more than once lately. Mandy is not just a client—she’s a longtime friend. It’s been such a joy to capture so many special moments in her life this year, and her wedding day at the beautiful White Oak Farms in Medina, TN, was a perfect spot for Scott and Mandy to get married.
I first met Scott during their engagement session, and let’s just say—he’s been a total trooper. He’ll be the first to tell you he’s not a fan of being in front of the camera, but you’d never know it looking at their photos. Want to know the real secret to beautiful engagement and wedding portraits? Be wildly in love. These two couldn’t have hidden it if they tried. The connection between them was unmistakable in every glance and smile.
The Bridal Session
Before the big day, I had the chance to hang out with Mandy for a bridal session—and I’m so glad we did. We met up at The New Southern, where she got to try out her dress, finalize her hairstyle, and soak in a little quiet before all the wedding excitement. It was the perfect opportunity for her to get comfortable in her gown, and for me to capture some truly stunning portraits.

The wedding day
Choosing images for this blog post was nearly impossible—this day had me tearing up more times than I can count. The love between Scott and Mandy was matched only by the love surrounding them from family and friends. Honestly, we struggled to find a single photo where they weren’t gazing at each other like it was the first time.
Their first look was nothing short of magical. With a little strategic planning (and avoiding some standing water), we found a tucked-away spot near the woods. The moment Scott saw Mandy, he was speechless—”Wow” was all he could say, over and over, while gently kissing her hands. I could have spent the entire session capturing just that moment.
From there, the day unfolded in a blur of happy tears and laughter. The ceremony was a bit toasty in that classic Southern sunshine,. But everyone powered through—especially the littles, who were absolute champs.
Rather than doing a traditional first dance, Scott and Mandy opted for a sweet anniversary dance. They spent most of their reception soaking in the joy of their friends and family. One of my favorite newer wedding trends is the private last dance at the end of the night. While guests gather outside for the grand exit, the couple shares one final dance—just the two of them. It’s often one of the most emotional moments of the day, and this one had every vendor in the room wiping away tears.
Congratulations
Scott and Mandy, I couldn’t be happier for you both. Thank you for trusting me to capture such a beautiful, heartfelt day. Wishing you a lifetime of those “wow” moments.
