South Side Graduation Session

Senior year is such an exciting time, and getting to capture it through portraits is always a fun experience. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a South Side graduation session in Jackson, TN. It was such a fun reminder of why I love these sessions so much.

Bianca had originally chosen to do her session at a pretty spot in Jackson that she chose from pictures I had taken. When I arrived at that spot it was swamped with cars and people. It’s also prom time in Jackson. There are lots of kids finding spots to go with all their friends and do pictures in their prom clothes. There was no way we were going to be able to get our cars in there much less a spot to take a picture that wasn’t already taken. So they chose Liberty Park.

Liberty park is a pretty green space in the middle of everything in Jackson. It has a very unique and beautiful stone gazebo that people love to use in portraits. The last few sessions I’ve done there were also being used for prom photos so we got lucky to get a few moments that it wasn’t occupied to photograph Bianca there.

I first met this amazing young lady when I photographed her family at a very special courthouse wedding in Jackson. Fast forward to today, and here we are celebrating another major milestone: her high school graduation!

Senior sessions are always such a joy because they mark such a big moment of change. It’s about capturing not just a portrait, but a piece of a once-in-a-lifetime season — the excitement, the anticipation, and everything in between. Whether it’s formal shots in a cap and gown or more relaxed, personal photos that show off style and personality, these images will be looked back on for years to come.
