This weekend I traveled over to Greenfield TN. Tabitha and Cody reached out to me looking for someone to come photograph their very intimate wedding at their church. It was just going to be immediate family and a couple of friends. It was a gorgeous spring day and a great day for a wedding.
I pulled into the church just as several other cars were arriving. As I started to grab my equipment I saw a beautiful bride that I knew had to be Tabitha heading into the church. I walked in to meet her family and her little girl. Tabitha and Cody have two little ones with the most gorgeous head of curls you’ve ever seen. As I met Tabitha and Cody I noticed that both of them were smiling most of the time. They both seemed so excited for this wedding.
While I was photographing this wedding where they had chosen only to invite their closest people something funny ran through my mind. As a kid when I was asked what superpower I would want I thought it would be so cool to be invisible. To get to experience being somewhere where you could see how people would act when you weren’t there. It crossed my mind that I kind of get to do that as a photographer. I can stand off and record emotions and special moments without others paying attention to me. It’s so fun to get to share in these moments that I don’t particularly belong to.
All their family gathered in the sanctuary for the service and Tabitha and her dad entered the room. Everyone in the room was so excited for these two. I’m so glad I was asked to come and capture this sweet moment of them becoming husband and wife. Congratulations you two and I wish you many years of love and happiness. Enjoy the marriage retreat!!
