Twilight Run & Downtown Rendezvous 2018
Twilight Run & Downtown Rendezvous 2018 was a wonderful event that helps so many families. I am so proud to get to be a small part of it. It’s an event to help raise money for a charity in Jackson TN called Heaven’s Cradle. Heaven’s Cradle was started by Abby Lackey. She started this organization after the loss of her infant son Davis. They do so much to help other families dealing with the same loss.
The Event
This event was originally the Rooftop Rendezvous but outgrew the space. Now it is even better at the AMP in downtown Jackson. So many of the people who come to and run in this event are there for an incredibly special and personal reason. They are running for a child that was lost. So there is such a sense of community and love. There were all ages running in this race from small kids to older adults.
They have a silent auction with some really amazing things to bid on. And if you haven’t ever watched live music at the AMP you should really find a time to go. The band this year was really amazing. I had never heard them before and just kept finding myself turning from my camera to watch them perform. Their band name is Cooper The Band. I’ll definitely be adding them to my playlist after last night.
This year there was dinner from West Alley BBQ. And it smelled and tasted delicious. There was face painting for the kids and beach balls that they were running around playing with in front of the band. Once the run is over everyone comes back to the AMP to eat and watch the band. Then they give out medals to the winners of the run. After that Abby gets up and talks and they go to the beautiful tree where they hand out ribbons to the families that have lost.
