Union University Graduate | Madisyn | Jackson TN

nashville tn portrait photographer 32

This week, I had another session with a Union University graduate. It’s always fun in the spring to photograph so many people on the verge of big changes in their lives.

We braved a hotter than usual spring day. I think I may have heard something about it breaking records in Jackson. But luckily there was still a really nice cool breeze and the humidity gave us a decent break. It was really nice as the sun was going down to feel the breeze flow across campus.

Our graduate arrived with her mom and sister in tow, and the three of them made the session so much fun. It’s always special to see families come together to celebrate such a huge milestone — and let’s be honest, extra hands are a photographer’s best friend when there are caps and gowns involved! Madisyn’s younger sister was a great help, insisting on carrying her sister’s things. They had even driven hours just to bring her a dress for her session since the one she ordered for graduation was running late in the mail.

Union’s campus gave us a gorgeous backdrop as always. From classic brick buildings to shady walkways, it was the perfect spot to capture all the excitement that comes with closing one chapter and stepping into the next.

Even with the heat, we laughed, explored, and captured some truly beautiful moments. There’s something about graduation photos — they aren’t just about the caps and gowns; they’re about pride, perseverance, and that spark of what’s next.

Big congratulations to all the Union University grads! You’ve earned every bit of this celebration!
