Ben
This week I met up with the Breazeale family at the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus to take little Ben’s one year portraits. The spring is so difficult to schedule sessions in. The rain is so random and sometimes it’s cool and sometimes it’s hot. On the day we had our session planned the chance of rain was really high. As the week went on the forecast kept changing. Luckily it rained that morning and the sun came out promptly and dried up most of the wetness.
Baby Club
The year just flies by when a little one is in my baby club. I can’t believe it’s already time for Ben’s one-year session. It seems like just a couple of months ago that I was going to the families gorgeous new home and working to get tiny Ben to curl up and sleep for his newborn session. Big sister is still as adorable as ever and a great big sister. She helped us making him smile and gave me great smiles whenever she was in the picture.
Ben brought his favorite and most frustrating push toy. He had the greatest excited face as he flew down the sidewalk pushing it, but also the saddest frustrated face when it didn’t do what he wanted. Once the toy was safely back in the car he spent most of his time trying to move as fast as he could to get to the dirt and grass. When he’d reach it he would quickly stuff it in his mouth and smile at mom and dad until they could reach him and pull it out. Eating grass and dirt is a very common activity during a 1-year portrait session. If you ever run into this problem yourself and easy way to solve it is to try to keep them on a blanket.
I’ve really enjoyed another year of photographing Breazeale babies and hope to see them back for family sessions in the future.
