Ben’s Newborn Portraits
This session was the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of spring. Doing a newborn session for a sweet little new baby boy. I have known his parents for quite a while now. They have made me feel extremely special by trusting me to do the pictures at their wedding as well as both of their sweet kids. I’m really looking forward to getting to photograph them more over the next year as little Ben grows.
While the sun was as bright and shining as I had hoped it didn’t really matter because their home had gorgeous windows everywhere so there was plenty of light everywhere. It was a fairly warm day outside with the threat of rain but I never saw much more than a sprinkle.
A good break
While I’ve had a lot going on this week in my life, getting to photograph little Ben was the most calming break. I’ve spent the last month spending my evenings and the days that I am free at the hospital with my grandparents. My grandfather had a heart attack just last week and he gave us quite a scare but is back to his old self again. When life throws us these curve balls it tends to make my mind busy and never still. I always feel like there is more I need to be doing no matter what time it is.
I am incredibly blessed to get to do what I love and as I do the things I love I find that they help to calm and relax me from whatever other chaos life has thrown at me. Newborn sessions can be long and repetitive because there’s no way to know how long your little one will sleep for us and sometimes I spend 90% of the session rocking, patting and calming them to help them relax and allow me to photograph them. And oddly enough that is just what I needed the day I met this sweet baby. Congratulations you guys, he’s is absolutely precious!
