Shelby & W.T.
First Baptist Church, Jackson TN | Jackson Country Club
I have been looking forward to this wedding since doing W.T. and Shelby’s engagement session months ago. I felt like we automatically clicked. They are so down to earth and fun to be around. They are so easy to photograph because just being together seems to make both of them constantly smile and laugh. Shelby’s parents were there to help show us around the location we had chosen for their engagement session and they couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. So I had no doubt this wedding day would be amazing.
The day begins
It was a warm day in October because apparently summer hasn’t quite given up yet this year. But the sun was beautiful and the leaves were glowing so we had the perfect setting for a wedding. Everyone was excited and happy to be there. As I walked in the door Shelby’s mom was bringing in a very special bouquet to show her. They both got emotional as they looked at the sentimental items that had been added to the base of her bouquet. Family heirlooms that had made her mothers wedding day special. After touching up makeup from the emotional moment we were ready to get into the dress.
I have to say Shelby’s dress was so perfect. The color and the lace couldn’t have fit her better. She and W.T. exchanged gifts and both gave each other something special to wear on their big day. Then we went out to the tree line for their first look. From the second he turned around the two of them couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. You would think I was posing them for portraits with how perfectly they held each other and smiled. Soon after their friends and family joined us and then it was time for the ceremony.
The Ceremony
I have to say the music at this wedding couldn’t have been beat. Shelby’s father played as did several other family friends. Her bridesmaid sang an incredibly moving song just before everyone made their entrance. The service was led by someone who obviously had personal knowledge of the couple and there’s nothing better than someone who knows you, uniting you in marriage.
The ceremony was filled with unique moments and touches. The kids always add a story to tell after your wedding is over and done. The little ones squirmed around the stage being as patient as they could stand and during the prayer stood sweetly with their hands clasped together. After the vows and kiss, the couple left to the Friends theme song. I couldn’t help but smile as everyone hooked arms and made their way out behind the couple.
The Reception
We all made our way to the country club where the band was amazing and filled with family friends. The bride’s father once again showed us how talented he was by playing in the bad along with several amazing singers. It was quite the party and I wish Shelby and W.T. years of happiness.
