Summer Lakeside Wedding | Erika & MIke

Erika & Mike had a gorgeous summer lakeside wedding in Mike’s grandparents back yard. It was a fun event filled with family and friends that had come together to celebrate them. Some traveled across the whole United States. You may remember Erika and Mike’s unique story on the post I made about their engagement.

Erika & Mike’s story

In case you don’t remember how these two met, let me refresh your memory. They both loved playing video games and were very good at it. They each played on teams that started playing together. After many games and nights where they were the last two still awake, playing, they got to know each other a bit and decided to talk outside the game. Several Skype sessions and a flight to California and these two became a couple.

The wedding day

It was a hot and sunny day in July. Luckily the humidity gave us a little bit of a break so under the shade of the gorgeous trees we were able to feel a breeze from time to time. It was a laid back family wedding and everyone was in such great spirits as they gathered for the wedding.

The wedding took place in Mike’s grandparent’s backyard that backed up to a gorgeous lake. Even though there was a chance of rain the sun never quit shining through the trees. Everyone gathered by the lakes to watch them say their vows and then headed up the hill for the reception. The couple thanked everyone who had helped make the day possible and then the dancing began. They had an anniversary dance that gathered up all the married couples onto the dance floor.

As things were winding down Mike’s grandfather told me stories of how he met his beautiful wife many years ago and asked her to marry him. They will be having their anniversary very soon and he was obviously very proud of his family. I am so grateful to have gotten to be a part of such a special day. Congratulations you guys!!
