How does a wedding day go?
Obviously, a lot of people who are planning a wedding haven’t done it before. Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a wedding with Tracye’s Photography? Those of us who are at weddings regularly tend to take a lot of things for granted. I know exactly the order of a wedding and how to lay out a timeline. I’ve done it a million times. I know what comes next and how we get to it. But as I was helping someone plan a wedding recently I realized, oh yeah, not everyone knows these things.
First of all, I highly recommend using a wedding planner. They are amazing and can make your day and your planning so much easier. They know tons of little tricks and things that you won’t know. If you can afford it in your budget, it’s well worth it. I’ll list some amazing planners below for you to check out if you are looking.
What do I offer my couples?
But let’s get down to how I help my couples and how our day goes. I always sit down with you weeks before your wedding and discuss what you want and don’t want. We then layout your day. I will help you with your timeline in a way that will make your day go smooth and be as stress-free as possible. We leave time for the little things that come up unexpectedly and give you time to actually enjoy the process of taking your pictures instead of feeling rushed and anxious.
What can you expect?
Your day will start with me meeting up with the bride at the location where she is getting ready. I will come to you and get all your details. The rings, jewelry and other things I want to photograph before everything gets started. As soon as I’m done with that I will come back and take pictures of the bride getting in her dress and finishing up getting ready. We will grab a few shots of the bride with her mom and her girls and then go on to the first look.
We will choose a great spot for your first look and I will stay off to the side and photograph you as he sees you the first time. At this time the two of you will actually get to talk for a minute and enjoy each other before things get rolling. Then we start your family formals and wedding party portraits. I plan for plenty of time so that you can all have fun together and make memories during this time instead of just being herded around.
After this, we move on to your ceremony. I don’t believe the photographer should really be noticed during the ceremony. So I try to get the perfect images to record your memories without distracting your guests. If you want more portraits after the ceremony we will take the time to do those. If you don’t then we go right on to the reception. I love to be there to help guide you if you have any questions.
