Fall Farm Wedding | Emily & Brian | Jackson TN

My connection to the bride

I’ve been so excited about this particular fall farm wedding since I found out it was happening. I grew up going to a small church with some of the best families in Jackson. We started going there when I was four and most of these families might as well have been blood-related. We were all very close and spent lots of time together. Emily’s family was one of those families.

So needless to say I remember when Emily was born. Our families got together for events, picnics, dinners and weekends away at camp. And even though we no longer go to the same church we are all still family. When I got the call that Emily was getting married I was so excited for her.

Brian & Emily

Emily and Brian are both teachers and I have no doubt they are both wonderful at their jobs. They are both very personable and fun to be around. They met at West Bemis Middle School in October of 2017 while Brian was gaining practice in a classroom to get his Master of Education.

Brian proposed on December 31st, 2018, at Orange Beach while they were on the beach about to countdown to the New Year. He had a letter in a bottle sitting in the sand and then while Emily was reading the letter, he got down on one knee behind her. When she finished reading the letter, she turned around and he asked her to be his wife.

I could tell that he would be so great for her just from their engagement session. They made each other laugh the entire time and I just knew it would be the same on the wedding day. Brian looks out for her but still appreciates how independent and sassy she is. Sassy was his word, not mine, but still very true.

The Wedding

It was the first week that humidity had actually eased up here in West Tennesse and there was a cool breeze. It felt so perfect for an outdoor wedding. Everything looked so elegantly simple. The old farmhouse was the perfect spot for Emily and her girls to get ready. There is a giant tree in the back and that is where the ceremony was.

Emily looked completely gorgeous. Her family did a good job of barely holding back the tears so they wouldn’t make her cry and mess up her makeup.  As I go back through the pictures I can’t help but smile when the pictures of her laughing pop up on my screen.

The wedding aisle led down the hill from the house and up to the gorgeously old tree with a mantel in front of it. And the flowers by Sand’s Florist were just perfect. The sun set at the perfect time and the light glowed down the aisle and up to the mantel. The ceremony was just beautiful.

Congratulations you two! I couldn’t be more happy for you. I wish you many many amazing years together.
