Memphis Botanic Gardens
I had a fun session with Katie & Mason at the Memphis Botanic Gardens this week. It seems to me that the humidity has hit quite a bit earlier this year than in the last few. It’s been a little miserable outside. And it’s never good to be red-faced and sweaty for your engagement session. I was really excited that they chose the Memphis Botanic Gardens because it had been a while since I’d been there. But as the day of the session got closer, I started worrying about how hot we’d get doing all that walking.
First, if you’ve never visited the gardens you should take a day to go. It has so many very different and beautiful areas. There is also a really fun area for the kids to play in. You’ll get to see lots of art, sculptures, and unique nature. It’s a great place to go spend the day exploring and take a picnic to have by the lake.
Engagement Session
We arrived at exactly the same time and were able to get clothes changed and get started really quickly. Katie & Mason were real troopers as I walked them all over the place. We got so lucky that the day we went it was randomly a bit cooler and the humidity had let up. They were having an event there so they were setting up food and tables as we made our way outside.
Katie and I are related so I have been around her since she was very small. But I haven’t gotten to spend a lot of time with Mason yet. It was so fun to watch them interact. They tended to make the same gestures and jokes as I directed them how to pose. And they were constantly laughing with each other. It’s so fun taking pictures of a couple that if fun while interacting with each other. I’m really looking forward to the wedding. Congratulations you guys!!
