Middle Fork Bottoms Proposal | Kenneth & Claire

Middle Fork Bottoms

I was thrilled when Kenneth reached out about his plan to propose at Middle Fork Bottoms State Park. This beautiful park in Humboldt, TN, right on the edge of Jackson, has quickly become a favorite spot for locals. With its winding trails and peaceful ponds, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. My family and I have spent time there ourselves, and I knew it would be an incredible setting for such a special moment.

Kenneth & Claire

Kenneth and Claire’s story began through a mutual connection—one of Kenneth’s college friends who later worked in Jackson alongside Claire. The two of them love spending time outside, often going on long walks together with their golden retriever. So, choosing Middle Fork Bottoms for the proposal felt like a natural and meaningful choice.

Kenneth had a vision: he wanted to propose while they were on one of their usual walks with their dog. We worked together to come up with a plan that would keep the moment a surprise. My family came along with me so I could blend in, taking some casual photos of my daughter while we waited for Kenneth and Claire to arrive.

I always tell my couples not to stress about the weather until the day before their proposal—Tennessee’s forecast is so unpredictable, and worrying too early rarely helps. But on this particular day, the rain didn’t just threaten—it showed up. Thankfully, Kenneth and Claire are the kind of couple who embrace the moment, rain or shine.

The Proposal

As luck would have it, the rain let up just as they pulled into the parking lot. They walked up, their golden retriever happily trotting alongside them, and when they reached the spot we had planned, Kenneth began saying all the things he had probably rehearsed a thousand times in his head. Claire’s face lit up immediately—she was overjoyed. When she said yes, the two of them soaked in the moment together before Kenneth finally pointed me out. They were still floating in that post-engagement glow when we started taking photos, and it was so sweet to witness.

Of course, their pup needed to celebrate, too—after a few minutes, he seized the opportunity to splash right into the water. Claire showed him her ring, but I’m not sure if he was excited about the engagement or just thrilled to be wet in such a beautiful park!

Moments like these remind me why I love what I do. I’m so grateful for the steps that led Kenneth to reach out to me, allowing me to capture such an unforgettable day.

Congratulations, Kenneth and Claire! I wish you both a lifetime of love, adventure, and many more rainy-day walks together.
