There is nothing more comforting than having your children in a school that you not only feel can give them a good education but that can also make you happy just to be a part of it. My son’s school is that way. Teachers, staff, students, and parents all come together in a way that I have no doubt why they named the school Community Montessori when it was moved two years ago. Everyone involved cares for the school and the children in ways that are so inspiring.
I remember going to school with Elliot a couple of weeks into his first year there. I walked in with him and as we walked down the hall everyone we passed waved at him and told him good morning and called him by name. Teachers from grades on the other side of the school knew my sons name after only two weeks of school. Older students smiled and said hi as he walked past. It felt so warm and welcoming.
And as the year went on I was just as excited to call this our school. The parents work hard to make this school fun for the kids. The teachers, staff, and parents work hard to come up with events that are fun for the kids and their families but also teach them something along the way. Montessori Fest
This year in addition to the vendors, silent auction, games in the gym, face painting, man making balloon animals for the kids, and great foods to choose from, there was a small train from Fun Zone taking kids on rides around the parking lot and Jackson Escape Room brought a trailer with two really neat escape rooms inside for the kids (and their parents) to try to break out of.
If you follow my photography and are ever interested in winning one of my mini sessions at the silent auction you should come by the school the day of the Montessori Fest. I have put a gift certificate in the auction the last two years and love getting to meet new families that bid on it and also book some of my regular customers through it.
So next spring be on the lookout for the Montessori Fest because it’s a fun place to take your kids and if you are searching for a new school for your child, Community Montessori is really an amazing school.
