The Parthenon in Nashville

A Parthenon Proposal is such a fun way to spend a Saturday! Tres planned a sweet proposal for his girlfriend McKenna in Nashville Tennessee. There was a chance of some dicey weather so the Parthenon was a great spot in case we ran into a bit of rain. He had a great plan to propose and then their families and friends were waiting to surprise McKenna at a restaurant in downtown Nashville.

Tres & McKenna

Tres and McKenna are both from Mississippi originally. She used to see him drive by because they lived in the same apartment complex and asked his twin brother if he was single. They’ve been together ever since. McKenna is an elementary teacher and Tres just graduated with his master’s from Delta State University and plans to work in Nashville. They live just outside of Nashville. The two of them love to take their dogs for walks and to snowboard in Colorado.

The Parthenon Proposal

It was an overcast day and the forecast kept changing up what time the rain was going to come. My husband and I waited on the grass of the Parthenon and enjoyed the weather and people watching. There were several graduates getting their pictures taken and even a large wedding party on the large lawn having pictures taken. We decided on a side of the Parthenon that would be less busy with people. As we stood there waiting for Tres & McKenna to arrive there was a tent set up where two guys were playing music. They were also making the biggest cotton candy you’ve ever seen. Several people were walking around taking pictures of themselves with them.

Tres had sent me a picture in advance so I’d know who I was looking for. He also sent me what they would be wearing. We knew it was them as soon as they came around the corner. He found the spot he wanted and started talking very seriously and then hit one knee. She seemed totally surprised. The crowd started to notice and several people started to clap as soon as it was obvious she had said yes. We walked around the beautiful park and took pictures and finished up just as the wind picked up and clouds turned dark. McKenna was starting to ask a lot of questions and I could tell Tres wanted to get her to the restaurant for the final surprise before she figured it out.
