2023 Nashville Proposal

This week was my first 2023 Nashville proposal. Reid got in touch with me a few weeks ago to start planning for photographing his proposal to Reilly. With it being January in west Tennessee you can never be too sure what it’s going to look like. The day was filled with misty rain, but when the time we planned his proposal came, the rain had let up and the Nashville skyline was beautiful.

But first, let’s talk about Reid and Reilly a bit. Reid is from Nashville but Reilly is actually from Houston TX. Their story is very unique because even though they met online as a lot of people do now, they had actually been working at the same company for 3 months and had never met before. These two love spending time together. They do things like gaming, axe throwing, water sports, movies, and anything of that nature.

The Bridge

We got there early and went up on the bridge to get in place. Luckily it wasn’t very busy on the bridge so we didn’t have to worry too much about working around people. When Reid dropped to one knee and pulled out the ring it was obvious that Reilly was not expecting it. He later told me that he had been throwing her off for weeks making her think he might propose later this year.

In some cases, we are unsure if the girl knew it was coming and was just great at acting surprised or if they really were taken by surprise. But in this case, I’m pretty positive that Reilly was surprised. The animation of happiness, surprise, excitement, and love on her face was hard to fake. I just love this girl’s expressions.

Once the proposal was done and she said yes there was one more surprise. Reid sent a quick text and Reilly’s sister ran onto the bridge and the two hugged and smiled with excitement. I have no doubt that the rest of the night was very fun for this group. I’m so glad we got to be a small part of such a special night. Congratulations you two!!
